Cindy I-Fen Cheng

Cindy I-Fen Cheng is Robinson Edwards Professor of American History and Asian American Studies at UW-Madison. She is committed to advancing equity and inclusion at all levels of the university and has won numerous awards for distinguished teaching, scholarship, and research.

As Interim Director, she will work with the Center’s Steering Committee and staff along with the College of Letters & Science and continue their endeavor of promoting an intellectually diverse set of programming and events that are public-facing and feature a wide range of academic disciplines. She will also advance the Center’s mission of providing a platform for a culturally diverse array of scholars, artists, filmmakers, and writers to nurture stronger connections between the campus and community.
