The End of It All
The End of it All film is based off of specific scenes between pages 315 and 341 of The Dream of Ding Village. This silent film that covers the following scenes: Ding Hui giving out cigarettes in celebration of Qiang’s marriage; parading Qiang’s casket around the village; the symbolic marriage of Qiang and Lingzi; Grandpa bashing in his son’s head and going to prison, and releasing Grandpa from jail. The film helps the readers recognize the irony that Grandpa spent his entire life defending and sticking up for his sons throughout many of their terrible decisions, only to take his son’s life at the end of the book
