Join us for the “Psychedelic Pasts, Presents, & Futures” Borghesi-Mellon Workshop “What’s New/Next in the History of Psychedelic Biomedicine?: Extending Conversations Backwards and Forwards” virtual roundtable on Monday, November 21st from 2:30-4 PM CST.
Lucas Richert will moderate a roundtable with a group of speakers working in the history of psychedelics: Andrew Jones, U. of Toronto; Taylor Dysart, U. of Pennsylvania; Jacob Green, UCLA; Andrea Ens, Purdue U.; and Jarrett Rose, RPI.
Register to attend the roundtable via Zoom here: https://go.wisc.edu/t43x88.
This event will occur on the coattails of the History of Science Society (HSS) 2022 Annual Meeting in Chicago, where many of the speakers will have just presented on a range of projects from histories of psychedelic conversion therapy to The União do Vegetal and the Hoasca Project in the Brazilian Amazon. The roundtable conversation will be a chance for the scholars to think through intellectual and structural next steps for their research in light of the conversations at HSS, especially as it relates to building a transdisciplinary network of psychedelic researchers, developing relevant pedagogical materials, and integrating humanities perspectives into future psychedelic science research questions.
