The webinar will address the intersection of research as well as “PUBLIC” purpose and vision that research can speak to from the perspectives of the studies, research, and organization on Vietnam, Hong Kong, and Taiwan.

  • How do you locate the studies of Vietnam, Hong Kong, and Taiwan in Asian Studies?
  • What constitutes the “public” in the vision and research advanced by your organization?
  • In what ways does your organization seek to build community?
  • How can that deepen VN, HK, and Taiwan studies as well as uplift the voices of those residing in the countries and in diaspora?
  • What are the challenges and risks that your organizations and those pursuing research on VN, HK, and Taiwan may face? How are these distinct on the one hand and shared on the other?
  • How can individuals and organizations build solidarity within and across identities and communities of research and PUBLIC Asian Studies?
