Things Fall Apart in Wisconsin took place during the 2009-2010 academic year, when high school and college classes from across the state read and explored Chinua Achebe's Things Fall Apart.

Chris Abani is a Nigerian novelist, poet, essayist, screenwriter, and playwright. He earned his PhD in Literature and Creative Writing from the University of Southern California. His works include The Secret History of Las Vegas (2014), The Virgin Flames (2007), Hands Washing Water (2006), and Graceland (2004). He was awarded the PEN USA Freedom-to-Write Award and a Guggenheim Award, among others. Abani met with students and answered questions at our student conference on Tuesday, April 13, 2010.
