Public Humanities Professional Development: A Public Humanities Roundtable

Join us for a conversation with Los Angeles Review of Books founding editor Evan Kindley who will discuss his life as a public scholar and editor. During this roundtable, Kindley will explore the relationship between academic and journalism, as he wrote about in his 2015 PMLA article “Growing Up in Public: Academia, Journalism, and the New Public Intellectual”. This event is organized by the English Department.

Evan Kindley will also be giving a talk on "Kenner's Networks: Modernism, Technologism, Conservatism" on Thursday, September 27, at 4:00 pm in 6191 Helen C. White.

Evan Kindley is Visiting Assistant Professor of English at Pomona College and a founding editor of the Los Angeles Review of Books. He is the author of Questionnaire (Bloomsbury, 2016) and Poet-Critics and the Administration of Culture (Harvard University Press, 2017). His academic scholarship has appeared in PMLAEnglish Literary History, and Critical Inquiry, and his reviews and essays in The NationThe New Republic, the London Review of Books, and other venues.
