Great World Texts in Wisconsin connects UW faculty with high-school teachers across the state, through the shared goal of encouraging high school and university students to read the classic world texts, both ancient and modern.

The University of Wisconsin-Madison Center for the Humanities is a hub of creative inquiry and intellectual life, with events, seminars, and workshops held across campus. Offices are in the University Club on Library Mall.

The recently-deferred mining bill, wolf hunting legislation, and other contentious proposals affect the health, safety, and culture of Wisconsin’s native people. Faculty weigh in, asking “whose land is it, anyway?”

A practicing psychoanalyst, literary critic, and author, Phillips will give a public lecture that will also serve as the keynote for the NAVSA 2012 conference.
